"I'll never again buy anything from Currys PC World."
I bought a Advent computer from Currys PC World in Finnieston Glasgow for £600,00. In the computer instruction manual it advises you to backup the preinstalled Windows 7 by burning it onto the two DVD discs supplyed. I tried to do this but discovered that the burning facility was faulty. I phoned Curry PC World's help line and was advised to return the computer and get a replacement one. The next day [Monday] I reboxed the computer and took it back. The "assistant", on seeing me approach the desk with the computer turned his back and totaly ignored me for about 2 minutes. When he decided to deal with me, I explained the problem and told him about being advised by the help line to return it and get it exchanged for another. His reply, "I won't be doing that". I asked, "what are you going to do about it?" his reply, "I'll burn another two discs for you". I said, "that won't repair the computer". Getting no where, I showed him another computer, an ASUS, I had seen online and was £150.00 dearer. I told him I would be willing to pay the £150.00 on top of the £600.00 if I could take that one instead of the Advent. Whithout a word he walked away and returned with the ASUS. I payed, he sauntered off and that was that. No apology, no thank you. He was so rude and unhelpful. Acording to my receipt the "assistant's" name is R. Retraining for R.?, maybe, but I don't think so, his ignorance and unhelpfulness seems to be far too deeply ingrained for anything to work.
